I really am enjoying this author. His books are plausible, believable, and his characters become like family. This book is book two of series of three. Be sure to read book one. Foster has quite a few short books available that are, I believe, intended to be first books in different series. You can tell he's very knowledgeable about prepping and survival. One thing I will say concerning the other books of Foster's that I have read is that several are poorly edited with one being almost unreadable. I did trudge thru it because the story line itself was a good one. As I continued reading his books, the editing became better with each one I read. This series of books have only a few errors. Even with the errors, these books are well worth the read because this author is very talented as spinning a good story and each it unique in itsself.Product details

Had some things, I would not have thought about. Not sure people would be as inviting as he seems to think.
this is an easy read; and it gets to the human side of life off grid, after shtf..
the story line is easy to fallow, and its teaches you prepping too..
The second book needs editing almost as bad as the first - or I am just getting used to filling in all the missing stuff myself. The main character still finds any reason and opportunity to drink that he possibly can. Which I find very hard to believe, that someone who is supposed to have all this knowledge about surviving would be foolish enough to drink like that. The story itself is nothing to get overly excited about. But he does give you a general idea on how things may be, gets you thinking about things anyway. For that reason and because I can't give half star ratings, I decided to give this one a 3 stars. But if the author would just figure out what a difference having a book edited could make, the ratings would go up substantially. Now on to the third book. PLEASE let it be edited!
I liked the premise of the first book that I decided to give the second book a try. This will be the last of his books I try. The editing and writing was poor, with the editing making it hard to follow the flow at times, as pronouns, and punctuation was incorrect or missing all together. I also did not agree with that just because it was a few days into a disaster, its ok to start abandoning all morals and start stealing just because it looked like no one was around. I cannot conceive giving up my morals with such flimsy excuses. It was a frustrating read in the end, and while I think it would be interesting to find out how it ended, I do not wish to continue giving my money to this Author.
This is the same author in the Preppers trilogy. Same problems in this book as in the first one. The story continued and the people are the same. This is the continuation of the experience. It shows the principle characters resourcefulness in getting home to where all his supplies are stored.
if you think things are going to get worse in our society before they get better, this is a timely read. the info comes in all forms from common sense but 'i never would have thought of that' category to 'wow' that is amazing (start a fire with ice!!). if you are or want to be a survivor this is your trilogy. this author has put a lot of thought into what are the steps to take and when to take them when society breaks down. this review only rates 4 stars because it is poorly edited.
I tried to like this book.Good premise,but my God,all they do is talk.Pages and pages of dialog.Sorry Ron,maybe a rewrite is in order..
